Job Summary:

Seeking a motivated, detail-oriented individual to fill the role of a Professional Job Seeker. This full-time position requires dedication, strategic planning, and excellent organizational skills to successfully navigate the job market, secure job opportunities, and advance career objectives. The ideal candidate will be proactive, resilient, and adept at leveraging various job search strategies and tools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough job searches across multiple platforms, including online job boards, company websites, and recruitment agencies.
  • Use a combination of reactive and proactive job searches to find both visible and hidden jobs.
  • Tailor applications and resumes to match specific job descriptions and highlight relevant skills and experiences.
  • Prepare for interviews by researching potential employers, practising common interview questions, and refining personal pitch.
  • Research local and regional job opportunities and labour market trends to identify promising positions and industries.
  • Network with professionals both in person and online to build valuable connections and discover hidden job opportunities.
  • Attend job fairs, industry conferences, and networking events to increase visibility and engage with potential employers.
  • Maintain and update professional profiles on LinkedIn, Facebook, and other relevant social media platforms to attract recruiters and employers.
  • Track application statuses, follow up on submissions, and manage communications with potential employers.

Weekly Schedule (35 Hours):

Monday:

  • 09:00 AM – 11:00 AM: Job searching on online job boards (Indeed, LinkedIn, Glassdoor).
  • 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM: Tailoring applications and resumes for specific job postings.
  • 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM: Researching potential employers and preparing for interviews.
  • 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM: Networking on LinkedIn, engaging in industry-specific groups and discussions.

Tuesday:

  • 09:00 AM – 11:00 AM: Researching local job opportunities and labour market trends.
  • 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM: Attending virtual job fairs or industry webinars and/or networking on LinkedIn.
  • 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM: Preparing cover letters and supporting documents for applications.
  • 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM: Practicing interview questions and refining responses.

Wednesday:

  • 09:00 AM – 11:00 AM: Networking in person at local events or through professional associations.
  • 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM: Updating, posting and/or optimising LinkedIn and other professional profiles.
  • 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM: Following up on previous applications and networking efforts.
  • 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM: Researching industry trends and developments.

Thursday:

  • 09:00 AM – 11:00 AM: Tailoring applications and resumes for new job postings.
  • 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM: Practicing interview techniques and mock interviews with a friend or mentor.
  • 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM: Attending local job fairs or industry conferences.
  • 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM: Engaging with professional networks on social media platforms.

Friday:

  • 09:00 AM – 11:00 AM: Job searching on niche job boards and company career pages.
  • 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM: Writing and updating cover letters for specific job applications.
  • 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM: Reviewing and improving resume and portfolio based on feedback.
  • 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM: Relaxation and reflection on the week’s job search activities, planning for the next week.
